Are Dick Cheney's money managers betting on economic colapse?

Vice President Cheney's financial advisers are apparently betting on a rise in inflation and interest rates and on a decline in the value of the dollar against foreign currencies. That's the conclusion we draw after scouring the financial disclosure....read more

It's an interesting read and now almost 2 months after the fact seems pretty dead on....

Do You Know About Lemon Laws?

I have this friend that is having a tough time with a new car she bought. In the past year, it's had several electrical and mechanical problems.

Now in most cases, you have a warranty and the dealership will fix it. In this case, the dealership is saying it is outside of the warranty and even after charging her to fix it but the problem remains.

I suggested she call an attorney to see if this falls under the lemon laws. The lemon laws are laws put in place to protect consumers from certain car purchases. The laws very from state to state.

If you ever have a problem with a new car purchase and the dealer isn't helping you, don't forget about these laws. They are put into place to protect the consumer.

The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread -- PayPal Subscriptions

Ok, maybe the title is stretching it a little but signing up for a subscription service through PayPal is the best way to go.

Does this sound familiar?

Have you subscribed to a service and then when it comes time to cancel, it was near impossible? You know the drill. No response to your email(s). Put on hold for hours. Finally, you forget about it a while longer until you let it consume your time to get it cancelled. It's too bad companies are so unscrupulous but they are.

Enter PayPal. Most internet service providers offer their payments and subscriptions through PayPal. This means when you cancel, you just go to your PayPal account and hit "cancel" -- end of story and subscription is gone.

I have several nightmare cancellation stories both from big and small companies and I am sure you do too.

Care to share your story?

Please give this topic some legs and share you cancellation story with a comment below.

Consider it a public service for the people that read this blog and haven't been burned yet.

I caught this article from JS Online about the state of the economy. The article identifies some ecommic red flags such as increases in foreclosures, interest rates and energy costs. It's a good read and a reminder to keep your financial house in order.
